Under the "Simple Return" plan, the Internal Revenue Service would complete tax returns for taxpayers whose sole income comes from one employer and whose interest income comes from one bank. The IRS would then send a copy of the return to the taxpayer. If the first wave of the program worked well, it could be expanded to other taxpayers.

Las Vegas Tax Day Tea Party 4/15/2009

Las Vegas Tax Day Tea Party

Today the Las Vegas Tax Day Tea Party was held with a rally at Sunset Park and it was my privilege to attend. By 12:30pm the crowd numbered near 2,000 protestors with more arriving steadily and not one single local news station covered it. The only media in attendance was KNXT News Radio 840.

Protestors lined Sunset Road with signs and flags and were show incredible support by passing cars honking and cheering. The main stream media who attempted to lessen this American grass roots movement by calling us "Right Wing Extremist" and "whining Republicans who are angry their guy did not win the election" refused to cover the event. I should add Fox News covered several National Tea Parties all day long exposing CNN, MSNBC, and CBS, to be very biased and untrustworthy. No surprise there.

This protest was made up of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents who set aside party affiliations to come together to protest the issues that concern them. We have a President who only knows how to make left turns, a Congress who ignores their constituents, out of control spending, and the taxing of future generations who are too young to vote and even some are too young to speak.

Today's protest was a beautiful thing and just the beginning. All of these Americans came together today to exercise their first Amendment right to free speech. We the people will not be silenced and Obama can choose to ignore these American voices and use prestidigitation in an attempt to distract the masses from his left handed agenda but he won't succeed. These protestors showed the American spirit that will save our country.

I was standing proudly behind a sign that read "Government is too big, LAYOFF OBAMA! The other side read Dump Reid, Dump Titus 2010. If you missed this event hopefully these pictures will inspire you to get involved and attend the next Tea Party. God Bless America!
